30 Day Holiday Challenge – Week 1

I announced here, that I am challenging myself for the next 30 days to work through kick-starting growth in three areas of my life.  First, I will begin to make improvements in my physical health over the next 30 days.  For me, I want to get a great start to losing about 35 pounds.  Second, I want to spend one-on-one time with each of my kids every week and third, I want to spend one-on-one time with my King (Jesus) every day.

So far, so good…

1. Today was the third day in a row I was at the gym.  I hit three miles on the elliptical today!  It felt great…I had forgotten how much I love working out.  I honestly do…

2. God woke me up this morning early, like an hour before my 6am alarm.  I thought at first it was to spend time with Him then, but I soon found out that God had ordained a one-on-one breakfast with my daughter this morning.  Soon after I made my way downstairs, down comes Abbie…it was pretty cool to hang out with her, talking about what was going on in her life.

3. I am diving into the Life Journal (www.lifejournal.cc).  The Life Journal is a cool way to make reading through the Bible in a year & journaling your insights more manageable.  I have never been a huge journaler, I have never been able to get into it.  The Life Journal has been great for me, because I read 3 or 4 chapters from the reading plan and then journal about one or two verses that stuck out to me.  Check these out…they are amazing, simple, and cheap.

It’s not too late to join in on this challenge!
