Pastors, I need your help…

I am finishing my master’s project on the Affective educational component of small group ministry.  Basically what that boils down to is this…what is it about small groups that allow people to begin to value and implement into character aspects (internalizing/transformation) the biblical principles that they cognitively know?

I need your help.  I would love to hear your insights into why the models you use work in this way.

One response to “Pastors, I need your help…”

  1. I always think about Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”. To me this verse speaks to my capacity for “self-deception”. My community group and the groups that meet in our church provide a place that I can look into a true spiritual mirror (the people in my group). They see things I don’t. They encourage me in ways I can’t. They love me in a way that only God himself, in them, could love me.

Because as Proverbs also reminds me…”there is a way that seems right to a man but in the end leads to death”. I need the environment of other believers to continue to live the life God has designed for me.
